Galatians 5:13 – For you, brethren,  have been called to liberty; only not to use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
I can’t tell you how much love this verse. The Lord has His hand of freedom stretched out to us. He calls us to take the His hand and break our chains. When we realize that we don’t deserve His grace is when He deems us worthy of our inheritance. God says that even though we have liberty through Him, that doesn’t mean we can feely live in sin just because we know that God will save us in the end. That’s like standing in between the state line and being in two places at once. It doesn’t work, eventual you will have to choose which side you will want to walk too. It’s not the best of both worlds here. We are supposed to channel our freedom and us it to free others. A phrase I head not too long ago was, “Free people, free people.” That’s so true! Our freedom in Christ can be used lead others to freedom.
What does freedom mean to you? That’s a challenging question. After talking to my roommates, they gave me different answers but it had the same end goal. They said that freedom means the breaking of ones chains. Like a slave free from its master of sin. And also said the freedom gives us the power to say yes, or no. It’s taking our sin and shame, and realizing in the heart that He is victory. Freedom is only found in Him. He sets us free, and allows us to live a free life. He gives us victory in our bondage. If you asked a born again Christ follower what freedom meant, they would say Jesus.

Consistency

Consistency Romans 12:1-2 - Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. I am convinced that these verses is one of my overseer’s favorite to quote. I have heard it so much the past 6 months, that it’s pretty much now one of my favorites now as well. This section is talking about being a living sacrifice to the Lord. We are supposed to walk in holiness and in purity while we are on this earth.   Now that can be really hard, like really hard. Wisdom 5 Ephesians 5:15-17 – See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. If we walk by godly wisdom, then it will help us determine what our purpose is. But there’s a few curve balls to this. Right here in this verse, it’s basically promising us that there are going to be hard days ahead. There is nothing we can do to prevent them but to stay faithful in your calling. The verse goes on and says, “Therefore.” Now this is a very important transition word. It letting us know that the next portion has something significant to say to us. And that is, DO NOT BE UNWISE. Plan and simple. Don’t do it. The bible tells us on many occasions to not be wise in your own worldly eyes.
