Being a Student 3
Proverbs 9:9 – Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
So over the last three months, this has kind of been the theme. We are being poured into with the words of the bible and the words of wise men. They are teaching us to be wiser and increase our knowledge. They train us up so we can be sent out and teach others. But it all starts with learning. You have to be adaptable for anything and flexible in the process of growing. It can be hard to learn new things and also apply them but it’s all worth it. Honestly, us as a general, try to over complicate this verse. There’s no underlying meaning, it’s in plain black and white. Wise men are teachable and are not above reproach. They are susceptible and willing to be taught.
This verse is something that the IGNITE school follows very well. In the training phase, which I can proudly say I have completed, we sit in the class room for probably 8 hours a day just being poured into and soaking it all in like a sponge. They are preparing us for our mission field and for our life. I can say that I have learned so much and I have learned valuable tool on how to better know my Lord and Savior. I am so happy that the Lord gave me this opportunity to come and further His kingdom.

I am the True Vine

I am the True Vine John 15:5 - “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.             Jesus said, “I am the vine, and you are the branches.” I really wanted to know this meant so I went online and began to research the terminology of it all. And I was able to dig up some pretty neat stuff. To properly grow the grapes, the grounds must be fertilized, planted in the right season, and be can carefully cultivated so to produce the fruits. They must be cut back on a dormant season so to produce better fruit woods. When your vines start to grow you have to train them by cutting off certain branches in order to make room for good quality fruits. You also need to train the branches to wrap around certain fences or other vines. It’s all a long process in order to produce good quality grapes. Wisdom 5 Ephesians 5:15-17 – See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. If we walk by godly wisdom, then it will help us determine what our purpose is. But there’s a few curve balls to this. Right here in this verse, it’s basically promising us that there are going to be hard days ahead. There is nothing we can do to prevent them but to stay faithful in your calling. The verse goes on and says, “Therefore.” Now this is a very important transition word. It letting us know that the next portion has something significant to say to us. And that is, DO NOT BE UNWISE. Plan and simple. Don’t do it. The bible tells us on many occasions to not be wise in your own worldly eyes.
