Blessed

Blessed Deuteronomy 3:21 – “…Your eyes have seen all that the Lord your God has done…” I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to serve in Costa Rica for these past 6 months.   God has shown me so many things that I will never forget. He has revealed to me the truth about myself that I have an attitude of complaining, pridefulness and laziness, all which needed to be strip away. He has displayed to me his promises of faithfulness, provision, fulfillment, renewal, and boldness. He has also allowed me to look through his eyes and experience his love that he has for all his children. Honestly, I don’t ever think that I would have experience that kind of love anywhere else. I can’t even explain it, it’s like complete joy and fulfillment. I don’t know, it’s crazy. That is something that I am going to bring back home with me, I am passionate about kids and loving on them the way the Lord loves me. This season was amazing but, what I have to remember is, that just because

Consistency

Consistency Romans 12:1-2 - Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. I am convinced that these verses is one of my overseer’s favorite to quote. I have heard it so much the past 6 months, that it’s pretty much now one of my favorites now as well. This section is talking about being a living sacrifice to the Lord. We are supposed to walk in holiness and in purity while we are on this earth.   Now that can be really hard, like really hard. Because that means we have to be consistently living a life that is set apart. This section doesn’t say “Do not conform to the pattern of this world”… SOMETIMES. No, it say, “Do not”. For example, why is it that we won’t

I am the True Vine

I am the True Vine John 15:5 - “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.             Jesus said, “I am the vine, and you are the branches.” I really wanted to know this meant so I went online and began to research the terminology of it all. And I was able to dig up some pretty neat stuff. To properly grow the grapes, the grounds must be fertilized, planted in the right season, and be can carefully cultivated so to produce the fruits. They must be cut back on a dormant season so to produce better fruit woods. When your vines start to grow you have to train them by cutting off certain branches in order to make room for good quality fruits. You also need to train the branches to wrap around certain fences or other vines. It’s all a long process in order to produce good quality grapes. One cool things someone said was that the vine is what provides the water and the nutrients to the branches

The Woman

The Woman John 8:2-11 (NIV) - At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.   In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.   When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.   At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one con

Sold Out

Sold Out John 6:67-68 – So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” The more I search the word, the more the Bible shows me how much of a sinful person I truly am. All my life I have known the stereotypical ‘physical guidelines’ to being a Christian and I lived by them. I didn’t party, I didn’t drink, I didn’t curse, I hung out with my Christian friend,   I served in the church,   went to Bible studies, and etc. I said some spiritual things here and there without even thinking about what they truly meant. But here lies the problem, I only walked the walk and talked the talk. These are all level one sins that I, thank the Lord, stayed clear from. I wasn’t an outer dirty person, but it was the inner filth that I paid no attention to. To be clear, I loved the Lord then. It’s just that, it was more outer works and going through the motions then doing it because I truly l

Doer

Doer James 1: 21-22 - Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is to save your soul. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. These verses are really something that challenges me because it tells you to be a doer of the word and not just a hearer. Why? Because honestly what’s the point of hearing it if we are not going to do it. That’s like going work and your boss tells you something and you completely reject and do the opposite. It’s like actively disobeying God which in turns causes him to have to judge us more severely. Because we knew better but chose to follow our flesh.   James was warning us to walk in holiness so that we can have everlasting life. It is the only acceptable response to the word of God. We must strip away the worldly clothes and allow God to cloth us in the new sanctification process. I want to walk through this world shining in obedience for Christ.

Promises of God

Promise of God Numbers 23:19 - God is no man, that he should lie; or a son of man that he should change his mind.  Has He said, and it would not be done? This week I have to share about a promise of God with my church’s staff. I was praying that God would reveal to me what he wanted me to share. And He put this verse into one of my morning devotions. I feel that it really proclaims who God is. He is a God of truth and righteousness. He is no ‘man’. He can cannot be swayed by this world. He cannot be deceived because he is all knowing. He is a Holy Being who keeps his word and because He is holy, he cannot go back on his word. He promises to be faithful to us till the end, and he will never leave nor forsake us.  Did you know that there are 3573 promises in the Bible? And God will fulfill all of them if we just let him. A promise is a promise. That means to God, it is a covenant that can’t be broke. But, not all of them are sunshine and rainbows. There are a lot of terrifying
