Faith Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Through faith, I am given a promise. A promise that God will reveal himself to me if I remain faithful. When I ponder on the word “faith”, it really makes me think of believing in something that is unseen. Believing in the unseen, can be hard sometimes for me. But my God reminds me time, after time, after time that if I seek him whole heartedly, He will gladly reveal himself to me. I must “look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith” to keep guiding me. It’s not even just a hope, it’s a promise to those who believe. (Hebrews 12:2a) Romans 1:20 says, “For since the creation of the world, His attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that we are without excuse.” His attributes are seen through the hearts of his people. Even though it’s hard for me to trust him at times, I have faith th...

Perseverance 3 Colossians 1:11 – strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy. In this passage, Paul is breaking down how to God will strengthen us in the midst of our trials. He starts out by saying that through Christ, we are strengthened with all might. Notice the word “all” here. This to me iterates that God is a generous with us. Eph 3:12 reinforces this verse. It reiterates, “to be strengthened with might through His Spirit. And again in 6:10, “be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. So it’s safe to say that God promises to give us the strength. He continues on to say that it’s through His glorious power, that in the midst of our trail, he will fight our battles. It’s His power alone that we shall prevail. If we preserver on and rely on the Lord, it’s through Him that we receive ALL the power, ALL the strength, and ALL the patience for our longsuffering. This is encouraging passage for me. It reminds...
Sold Out
Sold Out John 6:67-68 – So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” The more I search the word, the more the Bible shows me how much of a sinful person I truly am. All my life I have known the stereotypical ‘physical guidelines’ to being a Christian and I lived by them. I didn’t party, I didn’t drink, I didn’t curse, I hung out with my Christian friend, I served in the church, went to Bible studies, and etc. I said some spiritual things here and there without even thinking about what they truly meant. But here lies the problem, I only walked the walk and talked the talk. These are all level one sins that I, thank the Lord, stayed clear from. I wasn’t an outer dirty person, but it was the inner filth that I paid no attention to. To be clear, I loved the Lord then. It’s just that, it was more outer works and going through the motions then doing it because ...
